On a Roll
A New Rolling Stone, Watts Happening, Stone Steady, Enter Andrew, Contracting A Contract
Brian's boys now had a name and a regular gig to cut their teeth on, but their lineup was still not as stable as they would have liked it to be. In September 1962, Dick Taylor left the group to study art, leaving them without a bassist. Brian, Mick, and Keith were living together in a dingy apartment, but Mick and Keith were glad to have finally left their parents' homes. They were playing more, and their sound was getting better, but they needed to do something about their lack of a bass player before the band could do anything important.
